In 1933, Hitler had many changes in his life both politically and personally. There were many important events that occurred during his dictatorship as Chancellor of Germany.
Starting with Ernst Roehm, who wanted a revolution, was a new side of the political views. Roehm wanted this because he strongly disliked the structure of the government and he wanted the SA, or storm troopers, complete control of the German Army. The "Night of the Long Knives" struck Rohem's confidence because Hitler had ordered a purge on the SA. Later on, Ernst was captured and then later executed for treason, which ultimately marked him as a traitor. These chains of events lead Hitler to becoming the Supreme Commander and Chancellor, which is the combining of presidency and chancellorship.
Political divides grew further with Hitler's hatred. The Wehrmacht is the term for army, navy, and air force. This was done to make the role of supreme commander easier. This power lead to hatred against minorities. He disliked, saying the least, Jews, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Gypsies. They were "chosen" because of their resistance to the swastika as well as saluting Nazi propaganda. The last "target" interestedly, was the Jews. They were all stripped of their right to vote, citizenship, and literally their humanity.
During 1934, Germany began rearmament, even though it was forbidden according to the Treaty of Versailles. They officially announced that they would have to take over Europe. One admiral said that the German Wehrmacht was not armed enough to start another war. On top of this fact, Germany was still recovering from World War I because of their debt to Europe and the United States. Ultimately, Hitler wasn't prepared to provoke a war.
Because of the rearmament, the German economy reached its full employment. Unfortunately, a turn was made when the SS, or protection squadron, was built up and Gestapo reinforcement. The rising of fortification lead to a deadly and extremely emotional part of history, concentration camps. These actions were key reasons to World War II.
The Nuremburg Laws of 1935 were some of the harsh regulations instituted. The set of laws stated that Jews couldn't marry non-Jews, which is known as forbidden. Hitler soon in October of 1933 withdrew from the League of Nations. This was a step in the Nazi process of power. Hitler tried to win Britain's neutrality in March '35. Soon, Germany signed a "Nonaggression Pact" with Russia. Pacts were Germany’s strengths and after gaining trust, they broke every promise and attacked the country.
During 1941, the Germany launched war on the Soviet Union. Coinciding with this event, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and Hitler declared war on the United States. The catastrophes marked treason within Germany and a start to allied relationships. A group of German civilians and officers had been conspiring to overthrow Hitler since about 1933.
Continuing the political battles, Hitler was nearly assassinated by Colonial Claus von Stauffenberg. Because Adolf survived, he believed he was 'invincible'. With this attitude, it allowed the Allies to liberate Paris or at least regain control of the capital. Hitler was therefore forced to leave for Berlin. He then went into exile in the headquarters' underground bunkers. Many said he displayed symptoms of physical and major mental breakdown.
He was practically cornered with no way to escape since the Allies were crossing the Rhine River and Russia closed in on Berlin. In Hitler's last hours, he appointed Admiral Doenite his successor. As the Allies approached the bunker, Hitler and his wife committed suicide according to many theories.
Personal Life
During 1944, Germany and Japan were accused of "crimes against humanity". The year prior, German and Italian troops surrendered to the Allies in North Africa. This was almost unheard of in history because of the Nazi's power. 1945 gave a new on-look to the Nazi Party and their intellectual downfall. The early months of that year, a few concentration camps were invaded by Russian troops and the prisoners were liberated. The Allies taking over the campsites, accrued power for the Allies.
Since the Allies bagman to "take control of the war", Hitler went underground to the Füherbunker, which is 50 feet below the Chancellery Buildings in Berlin. This base was where Hitler ran Nazi operations from during the middle of 1945. Propaganda Minister Goebbels escorted Hitler's family to the bunker and they started burning documents so that there would be no proof of any violence.
Nazi personnel were given permission to leave the bunker for the hills near the buildings but many were not successful in the evacuation. In Hitler's interest, capsules of poison were made so that when Soviets invaded the bunker, no one could be a witness that was alive. He horribly tested the medicine on his favorite dog and an aide.
Hitler was one of the most powerful villains in history. His nickname was the "Greatest Military Commander of all times". He avenged alleged injustices of the Treaty of Versailles because he was extremely confident in himself as well as what he believed in. He barely considered the United States to be a threat of war. Adolf had always planned to invade the USSR, or United Soviet Socialist Republics. Even though he enjoyed his life, he was mentally disturbed and committed suicide according to many theorists in the Berlin bunker on April 30, 1945.
